Each day, your child selects the activities that most capture their fascination. The teachers carefully monitor the day’s activities, guiding students to new work, working one-on-one with every child and encouraging each child to record their learning choices to share with parents. These independent activities along with small group instruction of targeted mini lessons for science, social studies, math and poetry, give children the foundational academic skills they need.
In our Maker Space STEAM lab, your child refines their problem solving skills by solving engineering and design challenges and choosing individual activities that appeal to their creativity. Formal visual art lessons and “five minute museum” breaks enhance the experience.
Children also participate in age appropriate P.E., theatre, dance and music instruction.
Friday is an early dismissal day that includes school wide field trips, cultural celebrations, service opportunities and experiential projects.
Our lower school program is designed for children ages six through eleven (or in grades one through five). For tuition costs and part-time options, please visit our tuition page.
