Job Description

Montessori Guides (classroom teachers) are responsible for one-on-one Montessori instruction, classroom behavior management, monitoring of student progress and school-to-home communications. Additional responsibilities for this position include changing diapers, planning activities, supervising naptime and performing light custodial duties such as sweeping, sanitizing or tidying up.

Qualifications
Qualified applicants must be at least 21 years old and able to successfully pass a criminal background check. Candidates who have or are working toward a degree in a field related to early childhood education are strongly encouraged to apply. An ideal candidate knows or is willing to learn Spanish and American Sign Language, has experience working in a pre-school classroom or childcare setting, and embodies the philosophy that children should both have fun at school and be academically challenged.

It is essential that interested applicants be committed to a collaborative, co-teaching model in an inquiry-based educational program. You must genuinely like children to be successful in this position.

This position begins immediately. Our toddler program is open 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Pay begins at $15.00/hour depending on experience and education. Upon hiring, training in Reggio Emilia and Montessori pedagogical philosophies is provided. Bonuses are raises are awarded based on training milestones.
